The sharp disagreements over anti-discrimination policy for gay and transgender people in North Carolina resonate with Lisa Graves.
That’s because Graves, as executive director at the Center for Media and Democracy, a national investigations group that describes itself as nonpartisan, closely follows state legislatures and their relationships with local government. And, for those who may have forgotten, the Charlotte City Council passed an ordinance in February to extend anti-discrimination protection to gay and transgender people.
