In his Sunday Dispatch op-ed, columnist Thomas Suddes praised and endorsed Cincinnati Democrat P.G. Sittenfeld’s ambition to restore home rule to localities in Ohio that wish to prevent law-abiding citizens from carrying firearms.
Suddes said “Ohio’s constitutional tradition is that voters, not a lobby-lubricated legislature, are best judges of what is best for their towns.” Of course, neither Suddes nor Sittenfeld have a problem with liberal Democrat-lubricated localities making totally law-abiding gun owners scapegoats for the deeds of criminals.
