The Pitt County Board of Health voted Tuesday to identify three areas of focus for the coming years: sexually transmitted diseases, maternal and infant health and tobacco usage. As part of a state mandate, the board will develop and implement action plans to combat those issues.
Vidant Medical Center, Vidant Medical Center Community Benefits Foundation and Pitt Partners for Health each will do the same. Pitt Partners for Health already has chosen its goals: access to care, chronic disease prevention and physical activity and nutrition.
