Voters from across the country cast their ballot on Tuesday for state and local measures that will have tremendous impact on the health of their communities. From fracking to tobacco control, we rounded up a variety of initiatives with implications for public health that made their way to the ballot.
- Amendment 1, which extends the state’s Forever Wild land preservation program for 20 years, does pass
- Amendment 5, which transfers assets and liabilities from the Prichard Water Works to the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System, does pass
- Amendment 6, which prohibits mandatory participation in health care systems, does pass
